Due to pressure from local RV campgrounds they have started enforcing long standing rules against overnight parking in some lots. The campgrounds maintained that RV’s caused most of the law enforcement calls at Wal*Mart!!

The Wal*Mart on South 8th Street is now very RV unfriendly. Management has posted signs all around the perimeter parking lot. It reads, “No truck or RV overnight parking permitted. Violators will be towed.” I was informed by management at this location that RV parking had previously been allowed but due to problems with homeless people sleeping in cars and vans in the parking lot, now all overnight parking is prohibited. YES, you heard me right…this particular store has put RV’ers in the same category as homeless people that sleep in their cars. Once I saw the signs (and you can’t miss them) I went inside an asked if an excecption could be made since being Labor Day weekend, all the RV parks and campgrounds were full and my reservation at a state park located 8 miles away was to start the next day. My request fell on deaf ears.

Walmart is within Sawgrass Mall which prohibits overnight.
Walmart Cooper City is alternative 6 miles down Flamingo Rd at Griffin Rd. -

RVs are not welcome in Walmart Parking lot at any time. Went in to shop and was told toleave at 2:15 PM.
